Joel co-founded WESCAP Group in 1988 and has over 25 years of investment management and financial planning experience. Prior to establishing the firm, Joel was the West Coast Manager for Asset Management Group, a national investment advisory and financial planning firm.
Joel served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ethiopia from 1968 through 1970. He received Bachelor of Environmental Design (1973) and Bachelor of Civil Engineering (1974) degrees from the University of Minnesota. He obtained his Masters of Business Administration from UCLA in 1980. Joel is a licensed Civil Engineer (CA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA-1986). He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Los Angeles.
Joel and his wife Peggy have lived in Pasadena, California since 1977. They have two adult sons. Joel enjoys gardening, hiking, and reading history and other subjects. He does volunteer work for Union Station Homeless Services, where he is currently treasurer.
